    Citrine is a yellow variety of the quartz family and is closely related to Amethyst.

    Citrine is commonly found in Brazil, parts of the US, Britain, Spain, France, Africa, Madagascar and the Soviet Union

    Crystal Structure: Hexagonal Crystal System

    Colors: Yellow, Brown, Orange

    Citrine is closely related to Amethyst and Ametrine.

    All three share the same chemical composition and are varieties of quartz but with different colors.

    Naturally forming Citrine can be rare and harder to find than Amethyst.

    In actual fact, Citrine can be created artificially by heating Amethyst and even Smoky Quartz.
